Musk also stated that production of its Semi truck has commenced. Pepsio said in a statement Friday that the Tesla electric trucks will be used at its Frito-Lay plant in Modesto California, and its Pepsi beverage plant in Sacramento.
There was no word from Tesla or PepsiCo on how many trucks would be delivered, according to CNN. But there were previous reports PepsiCo had reserved 100 of the vehicles.
It was back in November 2017 that Musk first announced plans for the Tesla Semi, and that production would begin sometime in 2019.
It didn’t turn out that way. However, Tesla has said the delay was primarily the result of supply chain disruptions and resulting parts shortages.
In the months after the announcement, company such as Anheuser-Busch, Walmart, and JB Hunt were said to have placed pre-orders that reserved for themselves units soon after commercialization.
As he had promised before, Musk also said last week that its truck will have a range of about 500 miles, and in the past has can be achieved with an 82,000-pound gross combination weight, or the total weight of the vehicle, cargo, passengers, and trailer combined.
However, another factor is the number of hills that must be climbed on a route.
In the past, Tesla has also referenced plans for a 300-mile range version of the vehicle.

Other performance stats for the Tesla Semi announced in the past by the company include about the truck include a zero-to-60 miles per hour acceleration time of 20 seconds for a fully loaded truck, a 70% charge in 30 minutes using Tesla's Semi chargers, over-the-air software updates, and remote diagnostics.
In 2017, Musk said "We wanted a vehicle that feels incredible, that accelerates like nothing else.
“We are looking forward to this next step in our PepsiCo Positive journey and will provide more details once we have taken delivery,” PepsiCo spokesperson Andrea Foote said after Musk’s announcement.
