What is the cost to produce electricity by various fuel types, rewewable and not?
That is an interestimg and important question.
Recently. the folks at Bloomberg NEF researched that question, producing data that the Wall Street
Journal turned into the chart that can be seen below:

As can be seen, two renewables - a type of solar and on-shore wind - deliver the lowest average global costs, while the most expensive is natural gas, with costs for gas about twice as much per megawatt hour as the renewables.
