Supply Chain Graphic of the Week: Top Issues for Trucking Last 10 Years

An Interesting Look at Changes over the Past Decade from ATRI

Oct. 19, 2023

The American Transportation Research Institute (ATRI) is out with its annual Critical Issues In The Trucking Industry report for 2023, released just last week. (See Top Issues for the Trucking Sector for 2023 from ATRI.)

The top issues are determined from a survey of 4,000 industry stakeholders across North America. Motor carrier executives and personnel represented 47.8% of total respondents, followed by professional truck drivers at 29% and other industry stakeholders, including industry suppliers, driver trainers, and law enforcement, at 23.2%

Not included in our summary article linked to above was the chart below in the report, tracking the top 10 issues over the last decade.

Interesting to see how things change over time. "Hours of Service" changes was the top issue of 2014, for example, but understanably was not in the top 10 this year, for example.
