Supply Chain Graphic of the Week: A 360 Degree of Warehouse Labor Satisfaction

Employee Value Proposition Framework goes Way Beyond just Wages

July 13, 2023

The 2023 State of Logistics Report from CSCMP and authors Kearney was released in late June, and featured a "special topics" section on logistics labor, mostly focused on warehouse workers.

The report introduces an employee value proposition (EVP) framework developed by Keaney that goes way beyond wages, as shown in the graphic below:

The report says that "We are seeing companies pursuing differentiated strategies related to the EVP framework, such as significantly improving their onboarding and training procedures, managing schedules with greater responsiveness to worker needs, and finding better ways to align work with the company's core purpose and mission."

SCDigest notes that warehouse staffing firm ProLogistix, for example, recently found DC workers now rate schedule flexibility almost as much as wage level in terms of deciding where to work.
