The American Transportation Research Institute is recently out with its 18th annual “Top Industry Issues,” report, and for the first time in five years, the driver shortage was knocked off its perch as the top concern for the trucking industry.
Instead, the top spot was taken by rising fuel costs, with diesel prices soaring in 2022.

After five years of driver shortage as the top issue and now fuel costs in 2022, what was the top issue in 2016? The electronic logging device (ELD) mandate, with changes to Hours of Service rules for at least three years before that.
