The American Society of Civil Engineers is just out with its quadrennial evalution of US infrastructure across many categories, from bridges to school.
The headline news this week: The ASCE gives American infrastructure an overall grade of C-.
SCDigest will report in more detail on the 2021 report soon, but here we look at a graphic from the research on the state of US roads:
As can be seen, the data shows 41.9% of the 4 million+ miles of US roads are said to be in good condition, and another 15.4% fair. 20.1% are categorized as poor.
Of course, it matters a lot if you live in or travel through say Florida versus Michigan, with its tough winters.
Overall, ASCE gives US roads a score of a lousy D.
