Supply Chain Graphic of the Week: Is Supply Chain Transformation Low on the Corporate Priority List?

Supply Chain Ranks Last Among 11 Initiatives in Hackett Group Survey - but Maybe that is a Good Thing

April 19, 2018

Where does supply chain transformation stand on the corporate priority list?

Not high, according to a survey by the consultants at The Hackett Group.

In fact, as shown in the graphic below, supply chain transformation ranked dead last among a list of 11 initiatives, being cited by 38% of respondents.

While in once sense that sounds like a diss for supply chain, SCDigest upon reflection says not really. Having more than one-third of companies interested in supply chain transformation is actually a very huge percentage, in our view.

What's more, maybe the relative low score is reflective of most executives thinking their supply chains are in good shape. We'd hate to see, for example, 50% of execs thinking their supply chains are in need of a full transformation, right?
