Supply Chain Graphic of the Week: What are the Largest Barriers to Supply Chain Improvement?

Once Again, Forecast Accuracy Tops the List

July 20, 2017
SCDigest Editorial Staff

A couple of weeks ago, SCDigest editor Dan Gilmore offered highlights of the 10th annual Gartner-SCDigest supply chain study, which has become one of the most important in the industry over the past decade. (See Highlights of the Gartner-SCDigest Supply Chain Study 2017.)

Gilmore only had room for a handful of the data charts from the researchs in his column, so for our Supply Chain Gaphic of the Week, we post another one here, on what survey respondents see as the top barriers to improved supply chain performance:

Barriers to Improved Supply Chain Performance

As we've seen before, the lack of forecast accuracy tops the list, cited as one of the top three barriers by 37% of respondents - even though there is not much anyone can seem to do about forecast accuracy.

That was followed by lack of supply chain visibility, and then a lack of cross functional collaboration.

Interesting to us, lack of sufficienct supply chain technology scored just in the middle of the pack.

What tops your list?
