There is no shortage of studies looking at what practitioners see as top supply chain challenges (we do it ourselves from time to time), but we were nonetheless interested in another recent take on this, in the annual study from MHI, produced in partnership with the consultants at Deloitte.
Their survey results on top supply chain challenges are shown in the grpahic below:
Top Supply Chain Challenges 2016

You can read these numbers different ways, but the top ranked challenged revolves around talent management, with a combined 58% rating it as either extremely challenging or very challenging.
That was followed closely by "customer demands for faster response times" (57%) and pressure to reduce prices (56%).
At the bottom of the list, with just 26% combined, was "customer demands for more supply chain transparency/sustainability."
Our question: is that because customers aren't asking, or becuase it is easy to comply?
