OK, this has absolutely nothing to do with supply chain, but it does connect indirectly by the fact that JDA Software had Candy Chang as one of its general session keynote speakers at its Focus user conference 2016 this week in Nashville.
Chang, a self-described introvert with a master's degree in urban planning, somehow got the idea several years ago to first paint an abandoned house in New Orleans and then add hundreds of stencils with the anonymous "prompt" of "Before I die," inciting locals to add their thoughts on that that question, as shown below.

It didn't take long at all for all of those open spaces to completely fill up on all four sides of the house, right away and then again and again as weather took its toll. After New Orleans, there have since been more than 2000 similar instances for self-expression across the globe, from Moscow to Seoul.
Chang has expanded into other spaces, such as a "confessions" space in Las Vegas using a private voting booth type approach and several others.
While having nothing to do with supply chain, this was an interesting motivational speaker with a message first that you might be surprised at how small efforts can explode globally, and second that increasingly you might need to find your "own" discipline that is a blend of the currenrly defined ones.
This was actually very interesting, with the low-key Chang being a surprisingly effective speaker.
