New York-based American Industrial Partners (AIP), a private equity firm, announced this week that it was combining three recent acquisitions into a single business.
The private equity firm acquired the Intelligrated and Transnorm divisions from Honeywell in April and has now completed that transaction, and will combine those two businesses with systems integrator Trew, which it had acquired previousl
Intelligrated is a broad-based materials handling OEM, while Transnorm is a conveyor and sorter provider.
In a press release, AIP said the combined company will offer a combined portfolio of systems integration, conveyor, sortation, robotics, automated storage and retrieval (AS/RS), palletizing, software, controls, and lifecycle services.
The three businesses collectively generated more than $1 billion in revenue in 2025, employing more than 3,700 people across North America, South America, Europe and Asia. We’ll note Intelligrated is by far the largest of the three entities. For now at least the three companies will retain their existing brands.
Leading the newly formed group as CEO will be Alfred Rebello, who brings more than 35 years of experience in material handling and warehouse automation, including positions at both Trew and Intelligrated.
He served as an exec at Intelligrated since its founding in 2001, and led manufacturing, project execution and installation as senior vice president of operations through Honeywell's acquisition of the company. He joined Trew as President and Chief Operating Officer in 2022 before promotion to CEO in 2023.

The process began when AIP acquired an ownership stake in the automated material handling solutions provider Trew LLC in 2023. The investor then announced its plan in April this year to acquire Honeywell’s Warehouse and Workflow Solutions (WWS) business, which includes Intelligrated and Transnorm.
