Supply Chain Graphic of the Week: Declining Christmas Parcel Volumes

Peak Season Volumes Projected to Fall almost One Third from 2021

Annual US parcel shipping volumes have been declining since a peak in 2021. That is true for the key Christmas season as well, as seen in the chart below from the Wall Street Journal this week:

As can be seen, 2021 saw just under 3 billion parcels shipped in peak, versus a projected 2.2 billion this year:
