Who are the largest trading partners in goods with the US?
The measure in this context includes exports to and imports from each country, and as compiled by the Wall Street Journal this week, is calculated as a share of total US goods trade with all countries:

As can be seen, in about 2015, China surpassed Canada for the top spot, with about a 17% share and rising rapidly.
But then came the Trump tariffs and China's tariff response, and in 2019, according to data just released by the Census Bureau, total trade with China fell to $559 billion, down substantially from $659 billion in 2018.
That moved both Canada and Mexico ahead of China in terms of US trade share.
Will it last? Unlikely if a supposed new trade with China signed Jan. 15 holds - and if the coronavirus crisis doesn't bring trade with China to a halt.
