What are the top concerns of US trucking firms?

The American Transportation Research Institute (ATRI) is back with its annual report, this

year based on survey data from over 2000 truck drivers and carrier managers and executives.

The survey asked respondents to select their top three issues. The issues were then ranked based on the percent of carriers selecting an issue as one of their top three, as shown in the graphic below just for freight carrier responses:

Not surprisingly, the never-ending driver shortage topped the list, as it has for several years.

Interestingly, the survey also asked truckers on how to best address each issue. Not among the top three solutionse for fixing the driver shortage: raising driver pay.
