After moves in 2017 to evaluate the impact of certain imported goods and trade practices on US manufacturers, the Trump administration last week announced a series of new duties on solar panels and washing machines coming into the US.
The impact of the news on all the players inside and outside the United States is far from clear, and the move raises the possibility of retaliatory measures that could create a trade war.
We found an expert with some great insight into what actually has happened, what the impact is likely to be -and what if anything companies can do to give themselves the most options, however this plays out. That's Suzanne Richer, a director in the trade management advisory practice at GTM software provier Amber Road.
Listen to Richer and SCDigest editor Dan Gilmore discuss all this and more in video clip below, an excerpt from our supply chain video news this week from our Supply Chain Television Channel and CSCMP.
