A variety of factors have come together over the past few years to enable much larger and more complex problems to be solved by supply chain network design and optimization tools than historically has been the case - to the point where it is now very feasible to model the entire, end-to-end supply chain. That can drive savings and improvements by looking at network design more holistically, across process and functions.
That simply was not possible until a few years ago.
While that's great progress, Jeff Karrenbauer, president of Insight, says far too few companies are actually taking advantage of these opportunities. Why? Supply chain and incentive systems that still operate in silos.
Watch Karrenbauer and SCDigest editor Dan Gilmore discuss all this and more.
