The Hackett Group recently released a report on procurement trends and priorities for 2015. Perhaps surprisingly, Hackett found the top priority for this year was becoming a "trusted advisor" to the business.

What does that mean? Fortunately, Hackett provides a list of six attributes that characterize procurement organizations that achieve that trusted advisor status, a list which we review in the video clip below, excerpted from our weekly video news broadcast with CSCMP.

Hackett also interestingly provides survey findings that compare procurement's top objectives with the organization's ability to deliver on those goals - sometimes there is a match, sometimes there isn't, in a framework that could be useful in analyzing almost any area of the supply chain.
