Supply Chain network design projects are quite the rage these days, for many reasons, including globalization, omni-channel commerce, data networks at many companies, and more.
But do companies have the data you need to take on such projects successfully? Is the accounting data that drives most of our businesses usually good enough to model your network?
Generally No, says Dr. Mike Watson of Northwestern University and OpEx Analytics, and lead author the recent book Supply Chain Network Design.
There is usually some work to do in terms of both quantity and quality of data, Watson says, in this fast-paced interview with SCDigest editor Dan Gilmore.
