SCDigest readers are requested to take just a few minutes to complete the 2011 study: 5th Annual Gartner-SCDigest Supply Chain Study.
We know everyone is asked to take a lot of surveys, but we are confident this will be worth your time and will help SCDigest and the supply chain industry at the same time.
The research will be featured in many venues in 2012, including a Videocast on Supply Chain Digest. We ask for your help.
The study should take no more than 15 minutes to complete. In addition to contributing to important supply chain industry research, respondents who complete the survey are able to download one of three valuable research reports from Gartner:
• Supply Chain Management Market and Vendor Guide, 2010 -- a $995.00 value
• The Gartner Supply Chain Top 25 for 2011 -- a $995.00 value
• The Impact of the Cloud on Supply Chain Management -- a $495.00 value
"Global supply chains are under increasing pressure to perform flawlessly while their environments become more complex and external challenges mount. While at a macro level most SCM professionals understand the need to cost effectively provide superior service through this annual study we look to understand, in greater detail, how SCM organizations are responding to market dynamics," said Gartner's Dwight Klappich, a Vice President of Research at Gartner, who co-leads the research effort.
Klappich added: "We look to better understand respondents prioritized goals and objects, challenges and barriers and investment priorities."
He noted that in past studies, the research has identified that how organizations respond to supply chain opportunities and challenges are quite different based on industry, supply chain "personality," risk profile, and technology adoption philosophy, among other variables.
"This is where we gain better insights into the differences between leaders, mainstream and followers," Klappich added. "By understanding these conditions we hope to use this information to help organizations diagnose their opportunities and map their strategies for business improvement."
