How the Program Works
The Certified Lean Masters program is delivered in three, three-day sessions, four weeks apart. Between sessions, participants put into practice what they have learned to a specific lean project or initiative.
In addition to detailed education on Lean concepts, principles and practice, training sessions also provide hands-on coaching and support for these actual projects.
Participants improve one value stream at their organization, create quantifiable improvements,
and begin seeing immediate results.
A certification exam and the opportunity for participants to earn personal recognition
as a Certified Lean Master.
Discussions include the 5 principles of Lean, value streams, the 7 types of waste, supply chain
flows, building a business case, organizing for success, and value stream mapping. Participants
leave with an initial project plan and a 30-day plan of attack.
Session B
Participants return and present their current state value stream. Discussions include kanban, the
5S systems, Six Sigma, point of use, high flexibility scheduling, changeover reduction, kaizen collaboration,
and other topics related to creating flow and leveraging pull. Participants leave with an
updated project plan and a new 30-day plan of attack.
Session C
Participants return and present their progress in creating flow and leveraging pull. Discussions
include mass customization, total landed cost, new product development, supply chain audits,
and other topics related to Lean supply chains. Participants take the CLM exam and leave with an
updated project plan and a new 30-day plan of attack.
Participants will have telephone and
email support bewteen sessions to
discuss progress and alternatives for
meeting the milestones in their project
plan.

You will first be taken to the Certified Lean Masters registration page for your chosen session, and then to the Verisign/Payflow site to complete the transaction (including receipt).

Schedule and On-Line Registration
Sessions beginning in 2007 are being offered in the Boulder, CO and Chicago, IL areas (venues vary). In 2008, an expanded roster of locations will be available.
All sessions run from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and include breakfast and lunch.

The CLM Exam and Certification has been developed in conjunction with The International Supply Chain Education Alliance (ISCEA). ISCEA is the developer of the internationally recognized programs of Certified Supply Chain Manager, (CSCM), Certified Supply Chain Analyst (CSCA), Certified Lean Master (CLM), and Certified RFID Master (RFIDSCM).
Instructors
Each Certified Lean Masters class is led by two highly experienced Lean instructors, with deep, hands-on experience in Lean strategies, tools, and application.
The course curriculum and interactive approach was developed by Mike Loughrin, CEO of Transformance Advisors Inc. Mr. Loughrin has helped numerous companies in the transformation to world class performance levels through Lean strategies. Mr. Loughrin is also the Director of Lean Six
Sigma Programs for ISCEA and Chief Operations Officer for APICS Northern Colorado.
