What are the top priorities relative to government affairs for the trucking industry?

As reported recently in Heavy Duty Trucking magazine, Dave Manning, outgoing chain of the American Trucking Associations, shared his list of the top seven issues at a presentation at an industry conference.

It's an interesting list, ranging from stopping individual state regulations on driver rest breaks and meals to the "assault" on the status of contract drivers.

The key question? How well do the ATA priorities align with the interests of shippers?
