There are some very interesting dynamics going on right now in the consumer goods to retail supply chain, specifically efforts by retailers at long last to reduce variability.
In 2017, both Walmart and Target have announced programs to reduce variaibility in lead times and fill rates. Just recently, Kroger was reported to be implementing a similar plan - one of the first to do so in the grocery sector.
There is perhaps no one better to analyze these trends than Greg Holder, CEO of Compliance Networks, a provider of retail vendor performance management solutions. Here he reviews the retail trends with SCDigest editor Dan Gilmore.
