How did US companies perform in terms of inventory management?

As Supply Chain Television Channel anchor Jim Stephens notes in the video clip below, the two most common high-level measures are Days Inventory Outstanding (DIO) and of course inventory "turn"s - two measures that are sort of the reverse of each other.
