The News: Kalmbach Feeds, a manufacturer and distributor of animal feeds and nutrition products, announced it is deploying a new Warehouse Management System (WMS) from HighJump Software.
Why It's Worth Noting:
Many WMS vendors are working to reduce system implementation times. HighJump recently announced a new program that promises a 45-day WMS implementation, and is planning to use that program for Kalmbach.
The News: Kalmbach Feeds said it would implement a new WMS from HighJump Software to support distribution operations connected to a manufacturing facility in Upper Sandusky, OH.
Kalmbach Feeds will integrate its packaging line operations with the HighJump Warehouse Management System to create real-time visibility of finished goods as they are received into inventory. The company also expects the WMS software to drive reductions in cost-per-unit while improving overall service levels to customers through more accurate shipments. The new system will also improve lot tracking and product rotation/allocation processes.
The deployment will use HighJump’s “Advantage-45” implementation approach that promises a full WMS implementation in 45 days.
For the program, HighJump uses what it calls a structured “playbook” implementation methodology and a “Warehouse Wizard” tool to speed system set-up and configuration.
