What makes HighJump's App Station really cool?
As SCDigest editor Dan Gilmore describes in the video nearby, the App Station borrows on the concept of the thousands of "apps"
available for download on smart phones, but for enhancements to functionality for Warehouse Management (WMS) and other supply chain execution software applications.
The potential benefits are many: no more clogging up the core applications with niche capabilties only used by a few companies; faster delivery of capabilities to users; users can get new functionality without a full system upgrade; a potential "open source" type community where users contribute apps themselves.
It is a very cool concept.
