Despite great strides by many companies, there continues to be great interest and effort in Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP).

The chart below was taken from the current edition of our hardcopy Supply Chain Digest Letter, which focused on S&OP. You can find a wealth of Sales and Operations Planning resources, including a downloadable copy of the SCDigest Letter: Sales and Operations Planning Resource Page.

As shown in the graphic, nearly all experts agree S&OP is a monthly process executed along a set weekly cycle, starting with collecting data from the previous end of month, and culminating in an executive meeting where the company comes to a consensus on supply, demand and financial plans.
