We certainly don't lack for ideas from many sources on what to do in supply chain to better manage tough times, but we liked this survey of Chief Procurement Officers from Europe's CPO Agenda magazine that asked CPOs to rate the areas in which they think procurement can add the most value in helping their companies navigate these choppy economic waters.

As can be seen in the graphic above, CPOs believe that managing supplier risk tops the list, followed by finding joint cost-reduction efforts with suppliers, and being excellent at managing energy and commodity price volatility.
Sounds like a pretty good list - there is no lack of things to do, that's for sure.
