For the first time in the logistics industry, SCDigest and its sister web site Distribution Digest announce the launch of a new research and analysis service focused on the materials handling industry and distribution management.
For now, the service will provide a series of concise research reports - called Material Handling Tech Notes - that will analyze various aspects of the the materials handling industry and technology solutions. The service will soon be expanded with additional offerings for materials handling and distribution-related technology vendors.
The Tech Notes are available at no charge for SCDigest subscribers and web site registrants.
The industry research and Tech Notes development will be led by Cliff Holste, SCDigest and Distribution Digest Materials Handling Editor. Holste has more than 30 years of experience in the materials handling industry in consulting and systems engineering, having worked for several of the industry's most prominent manufacturers and systems integrators before joining SCDigest. In his career, he has helped many large and medium sized companies on materials handling automation projects.
The first of these Tech Notes has already been released, focused on an analysis of recent engineering advances by leading conveyor manufacturers that are providing much greater flexibility in initial system design and system modifications over time in distribution applications.

"While there have been lots of analysts following the supply chain and logistics software market, no one has really taken this approach specifically with regards to materials handling," said SCDigest editor Dan Gilmore. "With Cliff's deep industry expertise and the in-depth approach we take to materials handling and distribution topics generally, we think these analytic publications will well serve the industry."
"The materials handling market has certainly been underserved with this type of analysis and insight," added Holte. "This will be a great help to industry practioners by proving analysis that has simply not been available until now."
