As a follow up to its groundbreaking report on automated case picking (ACP) solutions for distribution, SCDigest and sister publication Distribution Digest have announced plans for a new Videocast in February that will overview the findings in the report and emerging catefories of ACP technology.
The broadcast on The Supply Chain Television Channel, scheduled for February 9, 2010, will be hosted by SCDigest's Dan Gilmore. Expert insight will come from Materials Handling Editor Cliff Holste, who led the research effort for the report and who has more than 30 years experience as an engineering, consultant and system designer in the materials handling industry.
The broadcast will cover highlights of the survey results of over 200 logistics professionals on the topic of ACP, provide an overview of the report's classification of the different types of ACP solutions (the first time this has been done in the industry), offer insights into how to determine if ACP is right for you, and overview the keys to success.
It will include video examples of a few leading ACP solutions.

Even if you are unable to make the live broadcast, by rgistering you are ensuring you will get a link to an on-demand version within 1-2 days after the live date.
"We've had nearly 1000 readers download the full ACP report, from a wide range of companies and industries, definitely showing the interest in automated case picking is there," said Gilmore.
"This project and research was an eye opener for me," said Holste. "I did not understand the level of ACP activity that is currently happening in terms of vendor R&D and interest from customers. This ultimately will change the face of distribution in many ways."
