There's no shortage of surveys trying to
assess what practioners and companies sees as their top supply chain challenges - we've asked such a question many times ourselves.

But that doesn't mean we weren't interested in one of the latest of such snapshots, coming from MHI (formerly the Materials Handling Industry of America) in its recent annual report, prepared again this year in partnership with the consultants at Delotte.

So here we go, with the data based on responses from some 1100 supply chain professionals.

These kinds of charts are always a little hard to understand, but as can be seen the top three cited challenges - based on the percentage of respondents citing it as a top challenge - were: (1) hiring qualified workers; (2) customer demands for service and price; and (3) as usual, forecasting.

Lowest rated challenges? Food safety and spoilage - this is obviously not an issue at all for most non-food companies - was seen as the least rated challenge, followed suprisingly by supply chain visibility and then omnichannel fulfillment (again not an issue for many non-retail companies).

So there you have it - how would you rate these challenges at your company or clients? Whar challenges would you add?
