A few weeks ago, SCDigest reviewed the excellent new book "Supply Chain Transformation" by Dr. Paul Dittmann of the University of Tennessee and before that a practitioner at Whirlpool. (See Just What is a Supply Chain Strategy?)

In that book, Dittmann provided a simple self-assessment tool that offers 12 questions for which companies can rate themselves on a score of 1-10. That includes an equally simple rating scale for a company's total score that serves as their overall strategy grade.
