An announcement about a new software solution from Sockeye Supply Chain (http://www.sockeyesupplychain.com/) caught our eye, as it targets an area that has probably not received enough attention of late: supplier managed inventory.

The “dynamic replenishment” module features an array of visibility and collaboration tools the vendor says have been missing from existing solutions. Emphasized is technology support that enables suppliers and the manufacturers to work together to dynamically address any inventory level discrepancies in real-time.

Sockeye says its solutions are being used by HP. The company also says its software helps companies avoid one of the challenges of supplier managed inventories, maintaining high availability of parts, which is especially difficult in high velocity supply chains.
