The growing number of conferences related to green or sustainable supply chain subjects demonstrates the powerful trend of companies emphasizing more environmentally-friendly supply chains.
The University of Arkansas recently announced its "Environmentally AND Economically Sustainable Supply Chain Conference,” scheduled for April 5, 2007 in Little Rock. The vent features speakers from General Mills, Unilever, Wal-Mart and many others. (See UA to Host Supply Chain Conference).
Previously, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology announced a similar event, titled The Energy Efficient Supply Chain, to be held in Cambridge, MA, on April 30, in conjunction with CSCMP. It features speakers from MIT, plus Staples, Fujitsu, and others.
Supply Chain Digest named the green supply chain movement as its top supply chain trend for 2007. (See Top Ten Supply Chain Trends for 2007).
