SCDigest Says:
If you can help get these containers moved directly, or no someone who might help, let Steve Tonisssen know.

Steve Tonissen, a marketing executive at software provider SmartSignal, recently contacted SCDigest regarding the needs of two related charities to get containers tranported from the Chicago areas to parts of Africa sometime in late Q1 or early Q2, 2010.

The two charities will acquire the containers themselves, which will be loaded with supplies and other materials for schools, ophanages, and hospitals in Ghana and Uganda. The containers will be loaded at two local churches in suburban Chicago, from which they will need to be transported to the locations in the two African countries. There will be just one 40-foot container going to each location.

The charities (BASIC and Juna Amagara) need help with both the expertise and the phyical transport of the containers.

Both charities are full 501-3C charitable organizations, meaning contributions are fully tax deductible.Tonissen says they would welcome assistance at either a corporate or individual level.

To offer insight or contribute expertise or transport services, please contact Steve Tonissen at stonissen@smartsignal.com or 630-829-4000.

We encourage SCDigest readers or their companies to offer assistance if they can - we will certainly provide coverage and photos of the activity if we can find someone to help.
